Open Insurance, the parent company of the AI-driven brand Huddle, has launched a new travel insurance product tailored for the Australian market.
This marks the company's return to offering travel insurance locally since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new product is designed to provide a seamless, technology-driven experience for travellers. Key features include:

  • Instant Claims Technology: Allows for rapid processing and settlement of claims, reducing the traditional waiting periods associated with insurance claims.
  • Smart Flight Delay: In partnership with Collinson, this feature automatically provides lounge passes to customers and up to four companions when facing flight disruptions of 60 minutes or more.

Sam Hoppe, Chief Commercial and Insurance Officer at Open Insurance, highlighted the company's aim to extend the frictionless, tech-driven journey that travellers expect from airlines to the insurance sector. Future developments are expected to include instant claims and cash settlements, as well as a pay-with-points feature.

For Australian travellers, this innovation offers a more efficient and user-friendly approach to travel insurance, aligning with modern expectations for convenience and immediacy in service delivery.
